Concrete Foundations & Footings
Solid foundations and footings that support your home, additions, and structures for decades.

Why Your Foundation Is Critical
Your foundation supports everything above it. When a foundation fails, you get cracks in walls, doors that will not close properly, and structural problems that cost thousands to fix. That is why getting the foundation right from the start matters so much. We build foundations that handle Florida soil conditions, high water tables, and hurricane-force winds without shifting or settling.
Foundation work requires engineering knowledge and careful execution. You cannot just pour concrete in a hole and hope it works. We follow proper procedures for excavation depth, footing size, reinforcement placement, and concrete strength. The result is a foundation that keeps your structure level and stable for the life of the building. Whether you are building new construction, adding a room, or replacing a failed foundation, we handle the work correctly.
Foundation Types We Build
Different structures need different foundation types. Here are the most common foundations we install in the Miramar area:
- Slab-on-grade: A single pour that combines the foundation and floor, common for Florida homes.
- Stem wall foundations: Footings with short walls that support the structure above ground level.
- Pier and beam: Individual concrete piers or pilings that elevate the structure.
- Monolithic slabs: Footings and slab poured together as one piece for efficiency.
- Addition foundations: New foundations that tie into existing structures properly.
The right choice depends on your building type, soil conditions, flood zone requirements, and budget. We evaluate your site and recommend the foundation type that makes sense for your project. All our foundation work meets or exceeds local building codes and includes proper inspections.
Our Foundation Installation Process
Foundation work takes precision and attention to detail at every step. Here is how we do it right:
- Site survey and planning: We verify property lines, locate utilities, and plan drainage.
- Excavation: We dig to engineered depth and width, removing unsuitable soil if found.
- Base preparation: We compact the bottom and add gravel base where specified.
- Form installation: We build forms to exact dimensions with proper bracing.
- Reinforcement: We place rebar according to engineered specifications and secure it properly.
- Inspection: Building inspector verifies the work before we pour concrete.
- Concrete placement: We pour the specified concrete mix and work it carefully around reinforcement.
- Finishing and curing: We finish the top surface and protect the concrete while it cures.
Foundation projects typically take several days to a couple of weeks, depending on size and complexity. We coordinate with building inspectors at required stages and keep you informed throughout the process.
Dealing with Local Soil and Water
South Florida presents unique challenges for foundation work. High water tables mean we sometimes encounter water during excavation. Sandy or loose soils require different approaches than dense clay. Some areas have limestone near the surface that affects how we build footings.
We account for these conditions in our foundation design and construction methods. When water is an issue, we use proper dewatering techniques and add drainage systems. For poor soil, we might excavate deeper and replace unsuitable material with compacted fill. Footings get sized appropriately for the bearing capacity of your specific soil. This local knowledge makes a real difference in how your foundation performs over time. If you are also working on slab work or need retaining walls, we coordinate everything to work together properly.
